Scholarship

The Summer Intensive Program at the Paris Opera Ballet School was created in 2013, on the occasion of its 300th anniversary. Opened to boys and girls from 12 to 19, the summer intensive is a unique opportunity to discover the working methods of this elite school and the very spirit of the French style. Over 200 students attended yearly, with close to 60% of foreigners and an average of 30 Americans. The program not only allows for hundreds of children to be exposed to, and benefit from, the technics of the Paris Opera Ballet but is also instrumental in the worldwide exposure it brings to the Opera National de Paris

From the beginning, the American Friends of the Paris Opera & Ballet collaborated with the Paris Opera Ballet School to create a scholarship program for American students. Based on the incredible testimonies collected from the candidates and the positive comments from the industry, we quickly decided to establish these scholarships as one of AFPOB’s permanent programs and are very thankful to ourgenerous patrons who make such program sustainable.
