INFO – ABOUT
AFPOB April 2022 Patrons’ Trip
The American Friends of the Paris Opera and Ballet has the immense pleasure to invite you to join them for a memorable Spring escape in Paris.
The Paris Opera lyrical Gala in honor of the American Soprano Renée Fleming:
For this unique and original performance the great soprano Renée Fleming will perform opera arias under the musical direction of James Conlon, and will be accompanied by surprise guests.
The program includes Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Giuseppe Verdi, Antonín Dvořák, Richard Strauss… A cocktail will be served at intermission in the theater decorated for the occasion. The performance will be followed by a dinner in the Grand Foyer, and an after-party in the presence of the artists.
And one of the jewels of the Paris Opera Ballet’s repertoire, Rudolf Nureyev’s final work of a life utterly devoted to dance, la Bayadère.
Rudolf Nureyev has adapted Marius Petipa’s choreography with music by Ludwig Minkus, and restructured it to include virtuoso variations and large‑scale ensemble movements. The spectacular richness of Ezio Frigerio’s sets and Franca Squarciapino’s costumes make la Bayadère a flamboyant spectacle.
More details to follow including exclusive daily activities. Space is limited, early reservation suggested.
