In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have recently created a Young Artists Relief Fund to help deserving artists – from prestigious ballet schools who are completing their training or transitioning to professional life in these particularly challenging times.

Summer

Launched at the Paris Opera Ballet School in 2013, on the 300th Anniversary of the School, the Summer Intensive Program has been enjoying an increasing interest and success over the years. Since 2016, a reciprocal program allowing for young dancers from the Paris Opera Ballet School to participate in the Summer Program in schools all over the world including in the United States, at the San Francisco Ballet School and since 2017, at the Boston Ballet School, the Houston Ballet School and Northwest Pacific School. Ongoing Campaign

The Paris National Opera offers you the opportunity to adopt one or several seats and to write your name or that of a loved one at the heart of the Palais Garnier. The benefits from this exceptional campaign allow the Paris National Opera to pursue its mission of transmitting knowledge and opening to the younger generations the doors of tis two theaters, the Palais Garnier and the Opera Bastille. The dedicated interactive website (fauteuils.operadeparis.fr/en) states the campaign’s evolution and shows which seats are available for adoption.

Ballerinas use about 10,000 pairs of pointe shoes each season and an Etoile can wear up to 3 pairs in a single performance! Ballet shoes are essential the dancers’ art and allow them to work at their best level every day. By financing them, you support their excellence up to the tip of their toes!

Thanks to AFPOB, the Company has regularly come to the US, at the Lincoln Center (NYC), Kennedy Center (DC), Harris Theatre (Chicago), and last time in 2001 on the West Coast: Memorial (San Francisco), Orange County

3e SCENE
Digital Project

Ongoing Project

Launched in 2015, the 3e Scene (Third Stage) aims at promoting different forms of contemporary creation, using digital technology, through original works offering an unusual glimpse into the universe of music and dance, of the Paris Opera, its heritage, its craftsmanship and the architecture of its venues. More than 60 original works are available and free on the Paris Opera website.

Ongoing Campaign

The preservation and transmission of cultural heritage are central to the mission of the Paris Opera & Ballet, a mission inherited directly from its ancestors, the Academie Royale de Danse founded in 1661 and from the Academie Royale de Musique, founded in 1669. Extending and disseminating the lyric and choreographic repertoire, preserving the knowledge and skills that make up the Opera – coupled, of course, with new creation – are among the key values of this institution exists to uphold.

One of the major upcoming projects is the construction of the Salle Moduable at the Bastille Opera.
