AFPOB supports many of the Paris Opera & Ballet’s major initiatives and campaigns.
To address increased needs during the Covid-19 crisis, AFPOB created the Young Artists Relief Fund, an emergency campaign to support deserving young dancers and singers who are vulnerable and struggling while theaters remain closed.
“This period determined whether or not I would be capable of working as a professional ballerina in a company (…) Ballet means everything to me, and being forced to discontinue because of my financial situation after the pandemic would be beyond devastating.”

Bringing help and hope to young deserving artists during Covid-19.
For the first round of funding, AFPOB is awarding 24 young deserving artists, dancers and singers with a grant of $2,500 each.
Change one artist’s life
Donations are also a unique opportunity to connect personally with one artist and follow their evolution. This support is vital for them and their families and will help ease the burden as they finish their final years of training or embark on their careers.

Name a Seat
The Paris Opera & Ballet offers opportunity to nameone or several seats in its historic opera house, the Palais Garnier.
With 126 seats already sponsored and more than 760,000 euros collected out of a One Million Euros, donors can still adopt one or several seats and write their names at the Palais Garnier.
The profits from this campaign allow the Paris national Opera to pursue its mission of transmitting knowledge and opening to the younger generations the doors of its two theaters. The dedicated interactive website states the campaign’s evolution and shows which seats are available for adoption.

En Pointes!
Help keep the dancers on their toes!
One pair of pointe shoes is worth 60€. One year of pointe shoes for an Etoile ballerina is worth 10,000€. Symbols of virtuosity, lightness and sophistication, pointe shoes are used every day by the Paris Opera ballerinas both in the rehearsal studios and on stage.
Donors can help fund them and receive a signed pair of pointe shoes!*
An Étoile can wear up to 3 pairs in a single performance! Male dancers use soft ballet shoes, sometimes dyed, and custom-made boots for most classical and neo-classical ballets. Ballet shoes are essential to the dancers’ art and allow them to work at their best level every day.

Ceinture de Lumière
Restoring the Belt of Light which lights up the Palais Garnier in Paris.
A campaign was initiated in 2013 to allow the restoration of the 60 elements that make up the Belt of Light: 22 lampposts, 2 candelabra, 22 caryatids, 4 pyramidal columns, 8 rostral columns and 2 imperial columns. Thanks to the mobilization of nearly 900 private donors, 1.8 million euros have been raised. Donors, individuals or companies, also had the opportunity to sponsor one of the elements of the Belt of Light by funding the entire restoration.
